Passaic County Prosecutor authorities reported that Mr. Sergio Xochiulacuamatzi, 26, from Passaic, Mr. Richard Arriaga, 25, from Wayne and Mr. Christian Martinez, 21, from Passaic, were arrested in relation to a stabbing investigation that took place November Friday in the area of Van Buren Street and Lexington Avenue in Passaic.
Police said in the incident, at approximately 2:16 a.m., Passaic Police responded to the area of Van Buren Street and Lexington Avenue on a report of a fight in progress.
Upon arrival, the police located a potential crime scene and a 29-year-old male Passaic resident who had sustained several non-fatal stab wounds.
Police said the victim was immediately transported to Saint Mary’s General Hospital for treatment.
Shortly later, Passaic Police were notified that a 28-year-old male Passaic resident had arrived at Saint Mary’s General Hospital in Passaic via private vehicle seeking treatment for several stab wounds.
Police determined that both victims were injured during an incident that occurred in the area of Van Buren Street and Lexington Avenue.
Police say based on the investigation, Sergio Xochiuilacuamatzi, Richard Arriaga and Christian Martinez were identified as the actors responsible for the stabbing of the 29-year-old victim and arrest warrants were issued.
On November 26, at 11:00 p.m., members of the Passaic Police Department arrested Richard Arriaga in the area of Black Oak Ridge Road and North Road in Wayne.
Police say on the same day at 11:15 p.m., police arrested Christian Martinez in the area of Gregory Avenue and Oak Street in Passaic.
According to police at 11:30 p.m., members of the Passaic Police Department arrested Sergio Xochiuilacuamatzi in the area of Prospect Street and Park Place in Passaic.
According to authorities, Sergio Xochiuilacuamatzi, Richard Arriaga and Christian Martinez are each charged with Attempted Murder, First Degree; Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault, Second Degree; Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Third Degree; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Fourth Degree; and Criminal Mischief, Fourth Degree.
The State has filed motions for pretrial detention for Sergio Xochiuilacuamatzi, Richard Arriaga, and Christian Martinez, which will be heard by Hon. Scott T. Rumana, J.S.C. on December 1.
