Two Children Fatally Injured in Orange House Fire; Authorities Identify Victims

A 4-alarm fire that ripped through a three family home in Orange killed two young children according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office 

Authorities said, a little after 8:30 p.m. last evening,  the Orange Fire Department was called to 197 Central Place on reports of a house fire.

Upon Firefighters' arrival, the house was engulfed in flames.  Authorities said seven occupants escaped the fire except two children who were found dead on the 3rd floor. There were two people treated at an area hospital according to authorities. The children's mother escaped and was very distraught authorities said. The children are identified as Zion Tony, 1,  and his sister Jayda McEachin, 6 . 

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office and Orange Fire Department will be investigating the origin and cause of the fire. The investigation is on going authorities said.
