Police are attempting to identify a motive behind an attack that left a resident injured and a neighbor behinds bars this morning in Jersey City.
Officers responded to the violent interaction that happened around 1:50 a.m. in the 200 block of St. Pauls Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a person suffering a non-fatal head injury after the victim's neighbor reportedly went on the attack with a hammer-like object.
Police say the victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment while officers arrested the neighbor without further incident.
The suspect was charged with aggravated assault, among other charges.
It is not clear what caused the neighbors to engage in the confrontation.
