Police have a crime scene established in a section of Newark's Central Ward while detectives canvass the scene of a shooting with injuries confirmed.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., multiple rounds of gunfire erupted 39 Lincoln Street rushing police to the scene.
Upon arrival, police found a male and female suffering several bullet wounds at that location.
The pair (around the ages of 18-20) were rushed to University Hospital for treatment and are reportedly in serious condition.
The suspects fired at the head of one of the victims that struck them at point-blank range.
Police say the suspect fled the scene and remains at large. Police found a car struck by bullets on Court Street.
Expect heavy police activity near Court Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
