A woman suffered non-fatal injuries after being shot in Elizabeth this evening.
It happened around just before 5 p.m. near the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and 1st Street.
Police responded to reports of shots fired and arrived to find a woman struck in the arm by gunfire in the 200 block of Port Street:
The unidentified victim was transported to the hospital, where she is expected to recover.
Police located shell casings near the Presbyterian daycare center. It appeared that the victim was attempting seek help when she walked away from the shooting scene.
According to authorities, two masked suspects, occupying a white vehicle, fired rounds that struck the woman and a building before speeding from the scene.
Police have not confirmed if the woman was the target of the attack.
