The Union County Prosecutor's Office is on the scene leading an investigation into a shooting with a man dead in a section of Union Thursday morning.
Police haven't released many details regarding the circumstance at this time.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 1:37 a.m., Union Township Police responded to reports of shots fired on Coolidge Avenue, prompting a police investigation.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a male victim suffering a bullet wound in his head at that location.
Medical professionals pronounced the unidentified victim dead at the scene while police secured the area searched for a possible suspect.
Police found about a half dozen shell casings outside a home on the residential block.
Police believe that a grey vehicle -possibly a Dodge Charger- sped away from the scene and is occupied by the suspects.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation at this time.
