Morris County officials confirm the investigation of a fire occurring on Ward Place, in East Hanover, on October 21.
According to officials, at approximately 12:09 a.m., police and fire officials were dispatched to Ward Place on a report of a residential fire. Responders located an active fire in a single-family dwelling.
The investigation revealed that the origin of the fire was within a bedroom of the residence.
According to officials, two residents were safely removed from the residence. A third resident was located deceased inside the home.
The identity of the residents and the deceased individual will not be released at this time.
At this time, the cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office does not anticipate any criminal charges being filed.
