The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Elmwood Park Police Department are investigating a death that occurred at 24 Beechwood Avenue, Elmwood Park.
According to authorities, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Elmwood Park Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting an Incident at 24 Beechwood Avenue.
Police said responding officers were told there was an injured individual inside the residence and that another individual had barricaded himself inside the home. The Bergen County Regional SWAT Team was called and after a short period of time, a male occupant of the residence surrendered to police and was taken into custody.
Officers entered the home and discovered a deceased elderly male victim, identified as Mr. Ronald Vicari.
An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Elmwood Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Foligno.
