New Jersey Transit Police are searching for a suspect wanted for a violent attack of a person at a train station on Thursday night.
According to a statement released by NJ Transit, at approximately 10:30 p.m., an individual at the Martin Luther King station on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail was hit in the head and knocked to the ground by an unknown suspect who approached.
New Jersey Transit officials said while the injured male was on the ground, the suspect proceeded to pull the adult victim’s personal items from his pocket before fleeing the scene.
EMS transported the victim to Jersey City Medical Center, where doctors treated non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is at large.
New Jersey Transit Police will lead the investigation.
