A Millville man admitted conspiring to distribute and possessing with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced.
According to federal officials, Mr. Emanuel Figueroa-Martinez, 36, pleaded guilty by videoconference before U.S. District Judge John Michael Vazquez to an information charging him with conspiracy to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl.
According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:
In April 2020, Figueroa-Martinez conspired to distribute five kilograms of fentanyl.
On April 24, 2020, Figueroa-Martinez transported the fentanyl to a location in Monmouth County.
Upon arrival, he was arrested, and the fentanyl was recovered from his car.
The offenses to which Figueroa-Martinez pleaded guilty each carry a mandatory minimum term of 10 years in prison, a maximum penalty of life in prison, and a fine of $10 million.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 8, 2022.
