Passaic County officials have been notified of a shots-fired incident that involved police in Paterson Thursday morning.
A preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 2 a.m., police opened fire on a vehicle in the vicinity of 295 22nd Street.
According to reports, the driver in a white Tiguan allegedly attempted to ram a police vehicle before at least one officer fired at the car.
The NY license plate on the vehicle is fictitious and Paterson Street Crime's Unit followed the car earlier during the overnight.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
No arrests or injuries were immediately reported in the shooting.
