Police are on the scene of a shooting with two victims shot in Newark's upper West Ward at this time.
A preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 8:25 p.m., an armed male approached two victims in the 80's block of Alexander Street and began firing multiple rounds in their direction.
One of the victims was struck in the chest, while the other victim suffered a bullet wound in their head.
EMS units are making their way to the scene for life-threatening injuries.
The area has been closed off, and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office has been notified.
