Authorities in Newark are investigating three separate shots fired incidents that erupted in Newark on Friday and Saturday.
In these shootings incidents, there were no immediate confirmation of injuries.
On Friday, gunfire rang out on Keer and Parkview, prompting a police investigation. Officers found shell casings at the scene, but the suspect fled on foot and is at large.
Early Saturday morning, police responded to reports of gunfire on 14th Street and Avon Avenue before noon. While investigating at the scene, units were advised of shots fired in the area of 15th and Springfield avenues.
Evidence that a shooting occurred was found while police canvassed the neighborhoods for victims.
On Saturday, five people were shot in two separate incidents in Newark's South Ward that happened about a half-hour apart.
