Two people were hospitalized in an early morning shooting in Jersey City Sunday.
Police responded to the vicinity of Ocean Avenue and New Street after receiving reports of shots fired around 2:25 a.m.
Units arrived at the scene and found shell casings but no victims.
While police searched the 200 block of Ocean Avenue, Jersey City Medical Center officials reported to authorities that two gunshot victims entered the emergency department suffering gunshot injuries.
The pair were transported to the hospital by private vehicle.
Police are investigating the motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made.
