Two Suffer Minor Injuries After Car Plunges Off Route 80 in Hackensack

Two unidentified women suffered minor injuries after their car struck a snow bank sending the vehicle off a Hackensack highway.

Hackensacack Fire Department responded to Route 80 east on the Hackensack River Bridge for a report of a car off the bridge into the water shortly after 7 a.m. today.

According to officials, the vehicle was going east on Route 80 when apparently another car  cut them off causing the car to swerve off, strike a snow bank and and airborne off the highway.

The women were extricated and rescued and transported to Hackensack University Medical Center.

The vehicle landed near the Hackensack River, plunging almost 60 feet into the Every Ready oil lot, according to officials.
