Morris County authorities said that Mr. Santiago Agudelo, 54, last known address 130 West Blackwell Street, has been charged with a homicide that occurred on August 29, 2021.
According to Morris County authorities, at approximately 7:40 a.m. on Sunday, Dover Police Officers responded to West Blackwell Street and Randolph Avenue in Dover on the report of a male lying on the sidewalk.
On arrival, police say they located a deceased male at that location.
Following an autopsy, the Morris County Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be a single stab wound and the manner of death to be homicide.
It is alleged that Santiago Agudelo stabbed the victim during an argument on the sidewalk of West Blackwell Street.
The victim’s name and identity will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.
Police said Agudelo was taken into custody on August 29 and has been charged with second-degree Manslaughter, third-degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and third-degree Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution.
Agudelo remains lodged at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing.
Numerous law enforcement agencies have participated in this investigation, including members of the Dover Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
