On Monday, police in Jersey City are investigating after a man was shot in a section of the city on Sunday night.
At about 10 p.m., patrol officers were called to McAdoo Avenue for a report of a shooting.
Upon officers' arrival, they located a crime scene that included shell casings but no victims.
According to police, investigators were informed of a walk-in shooting victim at Jersey City Medical Center a short time later. Once there, officers found an unidentified man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police learned that a Hispanic male, who wore a baseball cap, fired rounds at the victim before fleeing the scene during the investigation.
Police say the injured was immediately taken into surgery, where currently he is listed in stable condition.
The motive for the shooting is under an active and ongoing investigation.
