A transmission main leak along Possumtown Road in Piscataway has New Jersey American Water issuing a boil water advisory for at least nine towns in Middlesex, Somerset, and Union counties.
Officials said the towns included in the advisory are Clark, Dunellen, Edison, Green Brook, Linden, Middlesex, Piscataway, Roselle and South Plainfield.
According to health officials residents in these towns are urged to boil their water for one minute and allow it to cool before drinking;
