Emergency responders transported a gunshot victim to Jersey Shore Medical center for treatment after gunfire rang out in Asbury Park Tuesday afternoon.
It happened around 2:50 p.m. in the 1100 block of Atlantic Avenue.
Officer arrived at the scene and located the victim suffering a bullet wound in the chest at that location.
The circumstances behind the shooting are under investigation by Asbury Park Police.
There were no other injuries reported.
