Police announced the arrest of a 50-year-old Rahway man and a 40-year-old Linden man accused of stealing $76,865 from an Edison grocery store.
Police responded to Indian Grocery Outlet after store owner reported that the store had been burglarized during the overnight hours of Jan. 10 into Jan. 11. The store owner told police, that the large sum of stolen money was pending deposit.
After a two week investigation, involving crime scene evidence and interviews of store employees, police were able to make the arrests and recover the money.
Fausto Ariza Pedraza, of Rahway, and Tito Venegas, of Linden, were arrested and lodged in Middlesex County jail.
Bail was set at $10,000.
Police added that the investigation is ongoing and they are looking for additional suspects.
