There were no injuries reported in a shots-fired incident in Newark's South Ward Saturday morning.
According to police, at approximately 2:15 a.m., police responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of Hanford Street and Evergreen Avenue.
Officers arrived and found evidence that a shooting occurred after they searched the area. Police located no victims.
Police officials said it was a ShotSpotter activation that alerted them of the shooting.
The suspect fled the scene and has not been captured at this time.
Newark Police will handle the investigation.
