A teenage boy was rushed to University Hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries after a car struck him in Newark’s Central Ward this afternoon.
Police say around 3:45 p.m., emergency responders rushed to Central Avenue near 9th Street to investigate reports of an injured child.
Upon arrival, police learned that the victim, who is around the age of 15-year-old, reportedly ran out in the street and was struck by a car at that location.
The boy was found alert and conscious, but bleeding from his mouth, officials said.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
