The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office and Homicide Task Force is leading the investigation into the shooting of two 16-year-old males early Monday morning that left one dead on Stuyvesant Avenue.
Officials said Trenton Police responded to the area of Prospect Street and Stuyvesant Avenue at approximately 12:45 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.
Police say one of the victims, later identified as Dion Ellis, 16, was found shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, a second 16-year-old male was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition after suffering a gunshot wound to the leg.
The suspect fled the scene and is at large.
