NJ TRANSIT has updated its policy on personal vehicles to now allow e-bikes, e-scooters and hoverboards under the existing bicycle regulations, detailing when and where such vehicles can be on board.
“Today’s NJ TRANSIT looks beyond the conventional parameters of the customer experience by encouraging our riders to choose healthy, eco-friendly mobility options to access public transit,” said NJ TRANSIT Senior Vice President, Communications & Customer Experience Anthony Grieco.

“By its very nature transportation never stops moving and evolving,” said NJ TRANSIT Senior Vice President & Chief Safety Officer Brian Lapp, “This policy change demonstrates NJ TRANSIT’s continued dedication to improving the customer experience by staying at the forefront of new and growing trends with safe and environmentally friendly mobility options, and finding ways to incorporate them into our system safely.”
