NPD-1 aviation unit is over the scene of a shooting with a child injured in Newark’s North Ward at this time.
According to police, about six male suspects jumped out of a vehicle are with guns in the area of 128 Wakeman Street and began to fire rounds at that location.
Police said one of the eight bullets struck a 13-year-old boy in his leg.
The child was rushed to University Hospital in stable condition while ground police officers and NPD-1 searched for a White Danali.
Police said bullets struck one parked vehicle at the scene, but there were no other injuries reported.
The suspects fled the scene and remained at large.
