An early morning fire tore through a live poultry store in Elizabeth today, according to officials.
Firefighters responded to Los Ranchos Poultry on the 400 block of Elizabeth Avenue shortly before 5:30 a.m. for a report of fast moving fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire inside the business and roof.
There were no reports of injuries.
Firefighters found chickens and goats among the many animals inside. It is unclear at this time how many animals were inside or if any of them did not make it.
No details as to what caused the fire. Investigation is ongoing.
