A man was found dead in Bayonne yesterday afternoon, police said.
According to police, shortly before 4 Thursday afternoon, police responded to a report of a man lying on the railroad tracks on 25th Street between Avenue E and Prospect Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found the unidentified 41-year-old man lying on the railroad tracks under the walkway bridge, police said.
The man was pronounced dead shortly before 6 p.m., according to police.
The cause of death remains under investigation, although police said death does not appear to be suspicious.
Unconfirmed reports state the body was that of a homeless man.
