Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect who robbed Newark South Ward bodega at gunpoint Saturday evening.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to 833 South 14th Street after receiving reports of an armed robbery in progress before 8:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, police were informed by employees that a black male suspect who was approximately 6ft tall entered the 14th Street mini-market armed with a gun and demanded cash.
Police say the suspect took about $500 in cash before fleeing the store and last was last seen on South 14th Street.
According to police, the suspect wore all black with red black sneakers.
There were no physical injuries reported.
