Police in Paterson checked a section of the city for a crime scene after a gunshot victim was transported by private vehicle to the hospital Saturday morning.
According to police, officials at St. Joseph's Medical Center notified authorities when the victim arrived at the emergency room just before 2:50 a.m.
Police gathered information and were pointed to the vicinity of Madison and Getty avenues, where they began to search for a crime scene, but there were no immediate reports that anything was found.
The victim's injuries were reported as non-life threatening at this time.
No arrests have been reported.
