Passaic County law enforcement officials announced that at approximately 4:13 p.m. on Sunday, the Paterson Police Department was dispatched to the area of Matlock and Temple streets on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officials said police located a potential crime scene and a 23-year-old male Paterson resident suffering a non-fatal gunshot wound.
Police say the victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
