Newark Police officials said just before 4:50 a.m. today, police patrolling the area of Jones Street near 14th Avenue observed a vehicle wanted for a carjacking that occurred today.
Officials said police pursued the carjacked vehicle from South Orange Avenue to Exit 148 of the Garden State Parkway, where the suspect vehicle crashed.
According to police, two males and one female bailed the vehicle and initiated a pursuit.
Officers apprehended a juvenile female at Crown Street in Bloomfield and a second juvenile (a male) was arrested in the Home Depot Parking at 60 Orange Street in Bloomfield.
Police say the third suspect, a male, remains at large.
According to police, both apprehended juveniles were transported to an area hospital for medical evaluation and no injuries have been reported.
Police say the incident remains under investigation.
