Investigators in Newark are looking into the motive for a stabbing that left a woman injured in Newark's lower West Ward on Sunday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation released by police, at approximately 10:45 a.m., police responded to reports of a person stabbed at 145 South 10th Street.
Units arrived at the scene and found a seriously injured woman bleeding after suffering stab wounds.
Police said the woman was rushed to University Hospital for treatment while detectives looked into the motive for the attack.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
