Police took a woman into custody and charged her with a domestic violence attack that left a man injured in Newark's North Ward on Wednesday evening.
In the incident, police responded to reports of an injured person in the 800 block of Franklin Avenue just before 6 p.m.
Several Police units arrived at the scene and found a man suffering a stab wound in his head at that location.
Police say the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment while officers took a woman into custody and charged her with stabbing the victim during a domestic incident.
According to police, an additional EMS unit was called to the scene for non-life-threatening injuries the woman suffered during the altercation.
Newark's Special Victim's Unit were notified of the attack.
