Heavy snow fell overnight in most parts of the state causing some accidents and road closures.
Police closed all southbound lanes on Rt. 1&9 near Raymond Boulevard in Newark after a crash at that location left the road impassable. First responders arrived to the scene at around 5 a.m. where they reported no injuries. Weather was reportedly a factor in the crash.
In Jersey City, EMS treated two people for non-life threatening injuries after a crash on Route 440 near Communipaw Ave. caused a vehicle to overturn at around 4:15 this morning.
A crash on the NJ Turnpike northbound on the western spur between exits 15E and 15W had two lanes blocked at around 2:30 a.m.
