Police took a woman in custody and charged her with DUI after a crash that left her injured in Newark on Saturday morning.
In the incident, the early morning collision happened around 2:30 a.m. near 241 North 11th Street.
Police say they were notified of a crash with an overturned vehicle at that location. When officers arrived, they found the car with the woman trapped inside.
Emergency responders and rescue crews extricated the woman then transported her to University Hospital to treat non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say it was at the hospital where they placed her under arrest.
There were no other serious injuries reported.
