Jersey City police officers scrambled to recover a child from inside a ride-share vehicle who was mistakenly left by a woman in a section of Jersey City on Wednesday.
In the incident, police responded to the 100 block of Van Norstrand Avenue after receiving reports of an unusual incident where a woman left her infant inside a red Honda Uber vehicle around 6:05 p.m.
Police say the woman reportedly exited the car when she got to her location and the driver proceeded to his planned destination, believing the woman took all of her belongings.
Police say the child was in the back seat the entire time.
Officers canvassed the area for the vehicle and ultimately found the driver in the 20's block of Woodlawn Avenue.
The child was turned over to the mother without further incident, according to reports.
