Morris County authorities are looking into the cause of a pedestrian strike that killed a person on a highway in Parsippany Tryo-Hills Wednesday night.
The initial investigation indicated that at approximately 7:35 p.m., police were rushed to the vicinity of 690 US-46 after they received reports of a person down on the highway at that location.
Upon arrival, police found an unidentified person lying in the roadway suffering a severe head injury.
Police said the victim was ultimately pronounced dead by medical personnel after several attempts to provide life-saving techniques at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
