Passaic County authorities are looking into the cause of a crash that killed a person in Woodland Park early Tuesday morning.
Police said in an initial investigation, at approximately 5:45 a.m., emergency responders rushed to the vicinity of 1169 McBride Avenue for a report of a crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, police found a severely damaged vehicle that crashed into a tree then burst into flames.
Police say after firefighters extinguished the blaze and then found one person inside critically injured.
That unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office was notified to assist in the investigation.
