Car Bursts into Flames After Crashing on G.S. Parkway in Clark; Severe Injuries

NJ State Police Officials are looking into the cause of a crash that left at least one person severely injured on a highway in Union County on Monday morning. 

According to a preliminary investigation, State Troopers responded to reports of a collision in the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway near exit 135 in Clark just before 2:45 a.m. 

Upon arrival, police closed a portion of the highway after they found two vehicles involved in a collision with one of the cars overturned and another vehicle fire in what media reports dubbed the section of the road as 'The Bermuda Triangle' for collisions.

Emergency responders pulled one severely injured, unconscious and unresponsive person from one of the vehicles then rushed them to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries 

A crash investigation team was called to the scene to evaluate the cause of the crash. 

The condition of the victim has only been reported as critical at this time.
