In Pleasantville, firefighters battled a multi-alarm fire that broke out inside a large warehouse in the city on Tuesday morning.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters raced to the intersection of Pleasantville Avenue and Main Street to investigate several reports of a fire around 2 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy flames coming from the roof of a warehouse.
Crews stretched several lines and activated as many as 4-alarms for manpower as firefighters poured water on the flames in an effort to gain control of the fire.
As of 4 a.m., firefighters had not yet extinguished the blaze and there were no reports of injuries. Police say 20 apartments in the area were evacuated.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
