Police in Jersey City are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the city on Monday evening.
According to a preliminary investigation, police were notified of a walk-in gunshot victim at the Jersey City Medical Center around 7:50 p.m.
The officers investigating the incident focused their attention on Rutgers and Warner avenues where the victim reported being struck by gunfire.
Police say the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation and no arrests have been reported.
