Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Giancarlo Hernandez-Pichardo, 32, of Lanham, Maryland. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
According to police, on Tuesday, January 26, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force conducted a motor vehicle stop on I-95 South in Ridgefield Park.
A Bergen County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit responded to the scene, and the K9 gave a positive indication of the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded approximately 128 grams of suspected cocaine.
According to police, Hernandez-Pichardo was arrested without incident and charged with one count of Possession With Intent To Distribute Cocaine.
He was released subject to conditions following a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would also like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance in this investigation.
