The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office has been informed of a house fire that killed a man in Ewing Township Wednesday Afternoon.
It happened around 12:40 p.m. at 133 Beacon Avenue, where firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a house fire with trapped occupants inside.
Fast responding police and firefighters arrived and found thick smoke and flames coming from a single-family two-story house at that location.
Emergency responders immediately entered the house but were driven back due to heavy fire conditions.
According to police, crews were able to stretch several lines and get water on the fire before entering the residence, where they found the unidentified male dead.
The fire was placed under control just after 1 p.m., with the cause under investigation.
