Newark Police have announced that due to the snow predicted for tomorrow, January 26, certain streets in the city will be closed.
Weather reports state that snow is likely to begin before 10 a.m., followed by a mix of snow and sleet into the afternoon. Sleet and freezing rain are expected after 3 p.m. Total snow accumulation of about 1 inch is possible.
Reports also state that tomorrow night, snow and freezing rain, mixed with sleet, is expected before 7 p.m.; followed by snow and freezing rain. Before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, a mix of snow and rain is expected, followed by a chance of rain.
Newark Police have said that because motorists can become stranded by driving through flooded streets and high water, drivers are asked to avoid certain locations and to use alternative routes.

All residents are asked to be mindful of the city’s “No Parking on Snow Covered Roads” regulations due to the expected snowfall. Signs have been posted on streets throughout the City of Newark to notify motorists of the streets designated for No Parking on Snow Covered Roads.
