Police are looking for a suspect that led officers on a high-speed pursuit from Bergen County that touched off in Elizabeth and ended in Newark on Thursday morning.
According to police, Franklin Lakes Police began to chase a silver Dodge Durango wanted for traffic violations in the town when the vehicle's driver refused officer's lights and sirens then sped away.
During the pursuit, police said Clifton police became the primary law enforcement agency to chase the car into Elizabeth, where the suspect reportedly crashed into the officer's car near the intersection of North and Newark avenue around 4 a.m.
According to police, the suspect then sped northbound on Frelinghuysen Avenue, where officers lost the stolen vehicle in Brunswick Street and Clinton Avenue's vicinity.
There were no serious injuries reported.
