The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating an early morning fire that killed a man inside a house in Lodi.
According to preliminary information, police believe that a candle ignited the blaze that tore through the rear of a home on Westminster Place early Wednesday morning.
Crews arrived and found flames tearing through the home around 6 a.m.
Officials said two people jumped from the windows and Wallington firefighters later found the body of Mr. Ezequiel Gonzalez, 25, inside the home.
Firefighters placed the blaze under control within an hour.
Mutual aid responders also included firefighters from Hackensack, Garfield and Wood-Ridge.
