Homicide Detectives are investigating the homicide of a man who left home on Wednesday and didn’t return, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Pine Hill Police Chief Christopher Winters.
According to officials, police were called to the 100 block of Watsontown-New Freedom Road around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 23 for a report of a deceased man. When they arrived, they found Mr. Joseph Bottino, 54, of Gloucester Township, dead with multiple visible injuries.
A medical examiner performed an autopsy on Dec. 24 and determined Bottino’s death was a homicide caused by multiple stab and incised wounds as well as blunt force injuries.
Family members told detectives Bottino was in the area, which is a reservation, to hunt and had previously hunted in that spot many times before.
