Police in Paterson took several suspects into custody after a carjacking ended with the assailants leading officers on a foot pursuit Wednesday night.
According to police, at around 10:45 p.m., officers responded to reports of an armed carjacking in progress in the 80's block of Mercer Street.
Units arrived and were told by the victim that suspects took the vehicle during the carjacking, but no physical injuries were reported.
Police canvassed the area, spotted the vehicle, and then attempted to pull the driver over, but the suspect refused and sped from the scene.
According to police, the suspects bailed from the carjacked vehicle on Arch Street, but officers captured three suspects during a brief foot pursuit.
The suspects were charged with carjacking and eluding police.
