A Newark Police officer comforted an injured woman who was found on the ground after a collision that involved several vehicles on McCarter Highway in the city's North Ward Sunday morning.
According to police, the three-car collision happened near the intersection of 4th Avenue around 12:25 a.m.
Police arrived and found two totally damaged cars and a third vehicle which sustained damage at that location.
One of the cars -operated by a male driver- lost control and ended up on the other side of the highway. This vehicle suffered severe damage, according to police.
Firefighters and EMS arrived at the scene and treated the woman for non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
