Authorities in Jersey City are investigating two possible swatting incidents that brought heavy police presence to a neighborhood in the city this afternoon.
Officials said Jersey City Police received a call for shots fired at 12:39 p.m. today for the location of 18 Winfield Avenue.
According to police, while units were responding, a second distress call was made to a suicide hotline claiming the same address.
The JCPD's Emergency Services Unit arrived and cleared the entire location with no victims and no injuries to report.
Police said it is unclear at this time whether or not these calls were a hoax.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
